riots

I have been watching the news coverage on the riots in London, Birmingham etc on the news when I get the chance after work and in the mornings and it strikes me that the people who are rioting are the ones that will look worse from this whole mess, as opposed to a peaceful protest which would draw attention in a positive way for their cause. As the people are rioting due to claims of police oppression and a lack of chances due to funding cuts by the government (although admittedly there must be a lot of opportunistic looters now) they are proving themselves to be just as bad or even worse than the government as after they experience the power of running the streets for a few nights they have burnt down homes and small businesses. These are not legitimate targets in a riot about being oppressed as they have used their mob power to place the shop keepers and home owners beneath them and then used this oppression to gain for themselves as they loot. Thus proving that they too will take any chance to gain from the misfortune of others as they claim the government do. This riot will also make any genuine peaceful protest get less support and will probably lead to harsher treatment by the police and government.

passed first year of uni, just got the serious years 2 and 3 left. cannot wait tho :)

summer

back to being poor now that term is over and untill I start work in a month or so I shall remain poor. Aww well but I have no idea how I managed to do anything in the days before work and student loans but hopefully I will remember quickly.

It does however give me time to achieve some of my goals, learn some french, get fit once more and to cut down on alcohol. Hopefully this will be a productive summer for me!!!

exams

Well exams are done now and pass or fail there is nothiing that can be done about it. I genuinely like exams tbh and I like the idea that I have 2 hours to write what I can and then stroll off knowing that is that. Its like a big game for my brain, I dont always win the game but thats how life goes. What has been pissing me off is that for the last month all I have been hearing is how much exams suck because people want to go out, if that is the case then uni is not for you as exams are a pre-warned part of this where as me having to listen to this comment 20-1000 times a day is not!!!! just another small point about how people say “awww that exam was shit” when actually they should say “that was indeed a challenging exam paper and it did its job in regards to testing my knowlage of my course, I on the other hand have been a shit student and not learned what I should have for this exam” and take responcibility for their actions!!!!

i may fail or I may pass but if so I will find the correct person to blame and blame them, which will of course be me.

rant over and I hope that everyone reading this did well in their exams, if not darn those stupid exams!!!!!!

Went to see the blanks yesterday, also known as Ted’s band from scrubs :) it was soo good, I can’t remember when I was that excited for a night out. Also tried Guinness and black for the first time, partly coz vinnie told me and partly coz carl barett drinks it. Did not like it, but I suppose that’s where hero worship and peer pressure get you in life

Reading Festival 2010

i know i aint written on here in a while but i have pretty much been working and sleeping with a little x box included in that, that is untill the greatest weekend of my life happened!!!!

there is no where to have a better time on this planet and to get wrecked, listen to some great bands and meet a crazy bunch of people and share some times together :)

The journey to work

So far I have had a pretty good day tbh my new x box is here and also my tony hawk the ride game came today :)
On my way to work today I saw what appeared to be a grandfather and grandson in matching brains beer woolly hats and wondered:
who got the hat first? Was it the grandfather and his grandson copied him or did the grandson get it first I wonder?
Were they both presents from an unimaginative relative or the unlikeliest of all explanations, were they bought separately without any synchronisation and it was a lucky coincidence they both wore them today?
